Combined with our extended calling area, our long distance rates in Canada and internationally will keep your bill to a minimum. Starting at $ 0.04 per minute. Check out our international calling rates.

Free calls between Oricom subscribers

ORICOM INTERNET IP telephony subscribers do not pay long distance charges when calling each other, no matter where they are in the world.

Mobility

Planning to be out of the country for an extended period? Bring your IP gateway and save big! Your telephone line will follow you wherever you go and the calls you make within Oricom’s widely-extended local areas will always be considered local.

Examples of Long-Distance Calls

CASE No.1

You mail your gateway to your brother, who lives in Paris. You call each other.

Since you are both using an IP line in Quebec, your call is considered local.

This does not count as a long-distance call.

CASE No.2

You leave for Florida for 6 months. You bring your gateway with you and plug it in on American soil. You call Quebec.

Since you are calling from an IP line based in Quebec, your call is considered local.

This does not count as a long-distance call.

CASE No.3

You leave for Florida for 6 months. You bring your gateway with you and plug it in on American soil. You call your neighbour (in Florida).

You are calling an American number from a line based in Quebec. Even though you live only steps from your neighbour, your call is considered long-distance.

This counts as a long-distance call.

List of Oricom’s star (*) features

When you subscribed to Oricom’s IP telephony, you received an instruction booklet explaining in detail each of the star features listed below. Star features are activated and deactivated using the same code, unless otherwise indicated.

You can also manage these features from your Customer Area.

Call transfer

Forward your calls to your cell phone or any other telephone.

*72* followed by the number xxx-xxx-xxxx.
#72 Deactivate call forwarding.

Call Display Block

*67* Hide your name and telephone number when you call.

Last Number Redial

*95* Redial the last number dialed on your IP gateway.

Call Waiting (with certain telephony plans)

Use the flash button to place a call on hold and to alternate between two calls. (hang-up button).

Anonymous Call Rejection

Reject all anonymous calls.

*77* Blocks anonymous calls.
#77 Deactivate block anonymous calls function.

Dial Last Number

*69* Dial the number of the last caller, whether you answered the call or not.

Call Information

*68* For the number and time of the last call.
